SMOKEY’S CORNERS

BMOC’s lengendary and only LIFE MEMBER Al “Smokey” Greaves passed away on Jan 5th. 2022, from a stroke.

Al was a fixture in the BMOC from the earliest days – known for his wicked sense of humor and his innovative fabrication abilities. At the end of the club meetings he would usually provide one or two jokes, which were always well received.

He wrote numerous “Smokey’s Corner” articles for the Good Vibrations Newsletter in the early nineties. These stories would recount his early days of motorcycling around Vancouver and New Westminster. – He was a member of the Royal City Rockets Motorcycle Club until it became inactive. He drove the Harley-side hack delivery/wrecker for Deeley’s for a time with many a close call.

Below is a collection of his writings:

#1 – All you need to know about riding a motorcycle in 1002 easy lessons (if you last that long)

#2 – Royal City Rockets Motorcycle Club and my AJ 250

#3 – Stupid Bike Tricks, Stupid Car Tricks

#4 – Riding Funeral Escort Service

#5 – Hector

#6 – A Trip to Kamloops

#7 – A Winter Ride

#8 – Wheelies, Deeleys and Other Wonders

#9 – Smokey V/S The Smokeys

#10 – More Bike Tricks

#11 – The Cowbell Enduro and more stupid bike tricks
